To the Board of Education and D181 Administrators: We are a group of parents with children in District 181's accelerated programs with serious concerns regarding the proposed changes to the current curriculum. While we support finding a curriculum that would increase inclusivity and fluidity in the accelerated programs, we would like the Board to keep the current model in place while options are explored and a new curriculum is developed. We oppose eliminating or substantially modifying these programs before adequately researching a proper replacement program. It is our position that halting the programs without an alternative in place would negatively impact the progress of these students. We do not believe modifications can adequately be researched and formulated for the 2012-2013 school year.  We are asking the Board of Education to keep the curriculum in place as it stands for the 2012-2013 school year allowing more time for the District to research and develop modifications to our current system. Sincerely,
