we just got the word that the school is staying open for good. i cant believe we actually pulled this off and saved our little school. thank you so much for sticking with me while we fought to keep it right where it belongs.

Final supporters
This petition is in support of the retention of Crievagh Primary School. The school is highly regarded and known for its excellent educational standards and pastoral care. It reflects what's best about society and enjoys a great reputation in the wider community. Despite being small in size, it has a large footprint in the wider world, with many of its past pupils obtaining highly influential posts within society. I am confident that it meets and exceeds the criteria required by the Sustainable Schools Policy, with exception to the unobtainable Bain figure of 105. This magic number is unachievable for a school in such a rural setting.

the heart of the community-neighbours who no longer have kids or grandkids at the school still attend all events so if that doesnt say something I dont know what does!! dont close this lovely wee country school!!
As a concerned Parent of two pupils at Crievagh school I would appeal to the Minister John O Dowd to seriously consider his decision to potentially close this great school and to listen to the Parents, friends and communuity of Crievagh regarding the effects that this will bring to this area of Co Tyrone.
I love Crievagh School because we all play rounders, football and we have a 'Buddy Bench' where everyone who feels lonely goes and sits on it and then everyone comes over to see if you are ok and lets you join in their game. Please do not close my lovely school
I went to this school 40 years ago. Have great memories of my time there.The teaching provided by Mrs treanor and Mrs mc Cartney was great. It would be a shame for the future generations to be deprived of an education on their own doorstep.
As a past pupil who came from a larger town school, I know first hand of the growth in education and confidence I gained. My only regret is that I didn't get to Crievagh at a earlier age.
2 many of these smaller schools r under attack. the high level of education and pastoral care from staff being disregarded and money being the only issue.

We should be doing everything in our power to keep small schools in rural communities open. The smaller class sizes / less children per teacher, result in a better level of education for the children and they go on to become more useful members of society.
