Asalamualykum We hope you are in the best of health and iman inshAllah. During this holy month of Ramadan we are appealing to our brothers and sisters to help bring justice and the correct charges against our family members. On June 20th, 2013 Atfah, Ghazala and Tahmoor Ditta were arrested on false accusations of attempted kidnap and theft. The same night the police inspected the family home and confiscated some personal belongings. On the 25th June, Nighat Morris handed herself in at the Blackburn police station. On the day in question a fight broke out between my sisters mentioned above and their sisters partner. My brother was an innocent bystander. My family were unaware that the person in question was my sisters partner until the incident took place and we do accept that our family members did take part in a fight/assault. Whilst we acknowledge that the actions of our families members were wrong and unfortunate, we also ask that they are tried with the correct charges against them and granted bail accordingly. There was no kidnap as has been suggested. Nor was there any theft. This was not an honour or hate crime. This was a fight in broad daylight in a busy area. The media portrayal has been somewhat different to the actual event itself and we as well as others believe that this is being turned into a hate or honour crime when that is not the case. They have now been held since June 20th and will still be in custody till November. This is unfair and unjust. The family are full of remorse for the events that took place and regret their actions which were in haste and as a reaction to being provoked. On behalf of Nighat, Atfah, Ghazala and Tahmoor of Blackburn/Bolton I am requesting that they are granted bail and the charges of kidnap and theft against them are dropped. All 4 members of the family are very loyal and active members of the community and 2 are also loving parents to their babies. The way they are being treated is not In accordance with the crime committed. They are all being mistreated and not heard by the Law. I ask for the help of all of you as I would help you if it was your family going through the same. Please take some action on their behalf and be the voice they need. They can not do or say anything from inside so I kindly request that we get together and help them. Please also remember them in your humble duas during the month.
