The property of Clement's Market, located at 2575 East Main Road, Portsmouth, RI, has been inspected by the Town of Portsmouth and found to have drainage structures which are located on the eastern side of the property (behind the market), that deviate from the approved plans for the property on file in the Town Hall. The issue caused by this unapproved detention pond is as follows: As determined by John Braga and Associates, Inc., during bad weather with heavy rains, the structural outfall of the unapproved detention pond directs run-off waters to flow rapidly across the property of 18 Peggy Lane and directly onto all of Peggy Lane and Immokolee Drive. This excessive run-off water forms a steady stream that causes a discharge of water onto the public streets of Peggy Lane and Immokolee Drive. This run-off water causes problems such as excessive seepage into the basements of people’s homes as well as dangerous, icy conditions on the aforesaid streets during the winter. We are asking the residents of Peggy Lane and Immokolee Drive to support us in asking the Town Hall to find a permanent solution for the run-off waters caused by Clement’s Market unapproved detention pond.
