This is a petition from parents/guardians at Dixie Canyon Community Charter Elementary School that the classroom snack and lunchtime separation cease and desist immediately. Children should be allowed to sit where they want at lunch and snack including sitting with students from other classrooms and that this separation is unfair and discourages learning as it makes children dislike school. If there are issues with keeping the lunch area clean and students behaving, there are better ways to do it, and the parents, PTA, and teachers should all be a part of the solution. Parents also request that before such a policy or similar policies are instituted in the future, that not only should parents be informed about it, but informed about it in advance.
