We Don and April Grant, Legal Custodial Grandparents and Guardian for Anthony Lee Hancock submit this to petition the court in order to legally adopt Anthony Lee Hancock. We have had Anthony in our custody since May 2004 when the Franklin County Juvenile Court award us at that time temporary custody of him. Permanent custody was granted shortly there after on June 21st, 2004. Anthony has reside with us from then to present, and we love him as if her were our own biological son. We would like, as would he to adopt him as our son and change his last name from Hancock to Grant. The location of his biological mother are unknown, and his father is incarcerated; and will bill until April 2015. Anthony came to us when he was about ready to turn 6, still in kindergarten, and very withdrawn. He had a multitude of health issues not to mention insecurities. Since the day we took custody of him he has thrived, and his health improved with the proper medical care and nurturing. I did home school him during his 4th and 5th grade years due to his health still wasn't as good as it could be due to him having seizure disorder. By the time he was ready for 6th grade, we managed to get him into Tree of Life Christian School. He has really thrived there. He maintain's a grade point average of 2.4, and is into the musical program there playing both clarinet and guitar (acoustic and electric). Anthony is involved in both church and Scouts. He was just confirmed this past June as a member of our church (Ascension Lutheran Church). Very involved with the contemporary service. He is a second class Boy Scout, still working on his first class rank.
