Honorable Chris Christie, Governor, State of New Jersey:

Thank you for all you have done and are doing to advance the cause of parental choice in education. Since taking office in January of 2010 you have done more to advance this urgent cause than any public official since the late, great free-enterprise economist Milton Friedman first proposed his plan for parental choice in his 1955 article “The Role of Government in Education.”

As you know, leading members of the New Jersey State Legislature, including Assemblymen Anthony Bucco, Jr., Alex DeCroce, Michael Patrick Carroll, Senators Anthony Bucco, Sr., Steven Oroho, and others have introduced the Parental Rights Program Act (S2914/A2914). This will mandate universal parental school choice, requiring the money to follow the child to the school of the parents’ choice. Passage of this bill will:

1. Force public schools to improve their quality and efficiency, or face the loss of their students to better quality schools.
2. Reduce costs, as clearly demonstrated by private schools that provide quality education at a fraction of the cost.
3. Reduce undue influence of special interest groups over politicians.
4. Free teachers to manage their own schools where the education of the children is their top priority.
5. Restore the liberty of parents to raise their children without undue government influence.

Please use your substantial influence for the passage of this urgent legislation.
