I believe that we should have reconsider how our colonies are being governed. Lately our government has made us pay war debts, heavily taxed us on molasses, tea, glass, lead, and paper and we must have a stamp to show taxes are paid. The British forces have shut down our trade routes in Boston. The Boston massacre has upset every English colony in the area, who in their right minds would open fire on an unarmed crowd. Five people were counted dead and many were injured. We are very upset on how the British soldiers handled things. If nobody comes up with anything soon something will have to be done. We have our alliances and once they hear what is happening in the English colonies they will gladly help us in our fight to freedom. this petition is to stop what the British are doing to us. the British have taxed us, quartered into our homes, withheld religious freedoms, closed down the harbor, killed some of our men. This is going to stop this very instance! My fellow men and i will not stand to be bullied and ridiculed by these British soldiers who think that they can push us around and act like they own us. If nothing is done, extreme forces will take place soon and things will get ugly.
