The city has officially withdrawn the proposal for the facility at 2 Washington Street. I recognize the persistent effort it took to ensure our neighborhood concerns were properly addressed. We should remain attentive as the site usage develops in the future.

a) the location is next to a daycare center, and a Christian college. b) its a family neighborhood. c) its packed with tourists to the St. of Liberty, 4) there has been scaffolding on that street with dark nooks for years, increasing the ability for bad people to do bad things.
This area is a growing residential neighborhood with lots of young children around. Inappropriate location for such a facility. It would have a negative impact on the neighborhood and may hinder continued growth. As a parent who lives nearby, I would not be comfortable with the facility in the neighborhood.
As a psychiatric nurse I am more than in support of such a facility, but TriBeCa is absolutely not an appropriate setting considering the neighborhood & number of children! Please relocate.
It's becoming quite apparent that the people making these decisions still think that the area below Chambers Street is all commercial a la 1995. So many buildings have been (and continue to be) converted to housing, and families such as ours choose to live here because of safety, proximity to public transportation and access to excellent public schools.
I've lived in the area since 2003 and have witnessed the growth of the this area to become a residential neighborhood where young families live, I don't want this facility to be placed around here.
We live right on Morris between Washington & West. This is a building FULL of children and families. In fact, a neighborhood full of children and families. There's a preschool right on Washington street. This street is like an alley and a treatment center would be better served on a busy city block where there are lots of people walking around and businesses. This is residential other than the preschool. NOT a good place for a treatment center.
This area is not appropriate for this center. It should be illegal to set up operations in this neighborhood..

Exponents, an organisation dedicated to treatment of individuals affected by drug addiction, incarceration and HIV/AIDS, cannot be located in residential building; there is plenty of unoccupied space in commercial buildings in New York City.
