There is no doubt in Israel whatsoever about the fact of the Armenian Genocide, more so, it was Israeli historians who were among those pioneers who started researching this matter. The term GENOCIDE was initiated by a Jew, Rafael Lemkin, who first used it to define the mass slaughter of Armenians in Ottoman Empire and Jews by the Nazi Germany.
This makes it outrageous, even shameful to see the inability of Israeli Knesset and Israeli State Department to officially recognize the fact of Armenian Genocide for the fear of compromising the so-called friendly relations between Israel and Turkey.
Twenty three countries have already taken this step. It is time for Israel as well to officially recognize the annihilation of one and a half million Armenians as Genocide.
In April 2015 in will be exactly 100 years since those terrible events.
It is never too late to restore justice!

Сам факт геноцида не подвергается ни малейшему сомнению, более того, именно израильские историки одними из первых начали его изучать.
Даже термин «геноцид» был введен в речь евреем Рафаэлем Лемкиным для обозначения массового уничтожения армян в Османской империи и евреев на территориях, оккупированных нацистской Германией.
Тем обидней и даже позорней видеть не способность Кнессета Израиля и Министерства Иностранных Дел Израиля официально признать факт геноцида в угоду якобы дружественным отношениям с Турцией.
23 Страны мира уже сделали этот шаг. Пришло время и Израилю официально признать гибель полутора миллионов армян геноцидом.
В апреле 2015 года исполнится ровно 100 лет со дня этих жутких событий.
Восстановить справедливость никогда не поздно!

I was looking over the history again and it just hits me how strange it is that we have such deep research on this but the actual political stance remains stuck in the mud. People have been messaging me with their own family stories and honestly the silence from the Knesset is starting to feel less like diplomacy and more like a deliberate choice to ignore facts that Rafael Lemkin helped us identify in the first place.

I am watching these numbers crawl up and it feels like we just need a tiny bit more momentum to hit that hundred mark because honestly people need to see that we are not just a handful of observers. Please take a second to blast this out on your social feeds because I know there are plenty of others who feel the same deep frustration about this institutional silence.

i respect Israel, but it is shameful that it of all nations has failed to recognize the Armenian Genocide - particularly where the lack of recognition contributed mightily to the Jewish Genocide
Armenian genocide is undoubtful historical fact. We have no moral right to deny that fact. Moreover, Armenians and we have similiar historical experience, problems, enemies. So, we just obliged to help Armenians. And we must have done this long time ago.
