The purpose of this petition is to ask the federal governmant of Canada to create a National Day of the Cowboy (NDOC).

The iconic image of the cowboy is something that has been woven into Canada's history since the settleing of the prairies.  Today there are many who still live and breathe the cowboy lifestyle.  Some are pro-rodeo athletes, many are ranchers and farmers, but they come from all across our great country and share in a strong, identifiable culture.

The following people listed on this petition feel that the creation of a National Day of the Cowboy will help bring awareness to the hard work and sacrifice cowboys past and present have put into making this nation great as well as their role in helping to preserve our past.
