Through this petition, we kindly ask Apple to propose a non-led-backlighted and non-glossy-display computer, desktop and laptop.
- Why ?
Because a lot of people suffer from glossy screens : depending of the light, people are not able to work, and working outside is not possible. All the people with eye-pathologies (light sensitive, ...) can not either use of these computers.
- Why also ask for a non-LED backlighted computer display ?
We ask for an alternative. A growing number of people are suffering of pain, eye strain, nausea, balance loss, and migraines consecutively to the use of LED-backlighted screens. A thread in the Official Apple forum is even speaking of that : https://discussions.apple.com/thread/1677617?start=0&tstart=0 And because the LED-sensitive people are also sensitive with glossies screens.
- Why Apple ?
Because Apple is the only 100 % computing company dealing from A to Z with the Software to the Hardware
- What our the aim ?

I spent the entire morning reading through the messages you all are leaving and the amount of physical pain caused by these screens is honestly overwhelming to think about. It is wild how these glossy surfaces turn a simple desk into a giant mirror where you just stare at your own reflection instead of actually working. I am poking around for some tech contacts who might be willing to listen because there has to be a way to design a display that does not feel like a migraine waiting to happen.

LED screens give me terrible pain in both eyes, as a result I alway attach a LCD display.... uncomfortable.
my eyes feel like they are burning after ten minutes on these new screens. had to switch back to my old monitor just to get any work done. apple needs to listen to us.

I can't work on an led backlit screen, headache starts within minutes... from the Apple lle i have always used apple. For the first time ever i don't think i have a choice but to use another brands notebook...
