This is a petition for LEGO to open an official LEGO store somewhere in Australasia.
I live in New Zealand where the toy retailers sell LEGO at hugely high prices. For example, a normal LEGO Series 7 Minifigure retails in US for around $2.50, whereas in New Zealand you would be lucky to even get one for $6.00. If NZ or AUS had a official LEGO store, the prices would be way cheaper. And also if you live in Oceania and want to make a LEGO model, but don't have a particular piece, you can't just go down to the local LEGO store and it pick it out. You either have to rob the piece from another set (some pieces are very rare, so this might no work) or try and get one the online Pick A Brick shop (which the postage costs at least 10 times more than the actual piece).

At the moment, LEGO only has a distribution center in NZ's biggest city, Auckland. LEGO have recently opened stores in the US, UK, Denmark, Germany, etc. But as of yet, as far I know LEGO doesn't have ANY official LEGO stores in Oceania. They are planning to open a LEGOLAND in Malaysia, but Australia, which has over 25 million people in it, still doesn't even have a store.

One day, I thought how good it would be for me to open a store in NZ or Australia. There is loads of major LEGO fans, young and old, who would love to have a store close to them. So I researched and found that from 2010 LEGO does not have franchises and now LEGO owns all of their stores around the world, so no one can actually own a LEGO store anymore. The highest position you can get in a LEGO store is a store manager. I have emailed LEGO saying where they are going to open their next stores and whether they would consider opening one in New Zealand. The person who responded basically said that it probably won't happen and that it could happen in the near future. Which doesn't really tell me anything. I personally think that LEGO has a huge fan base in New Zealand and Australia and that by opening a LEGO store would boost sales and grow popularity for the best toy in world (LEGO).
