This is a petition against the proposed plan to revitalize the Sailwinds property in Cambridge MD to develop a boutique hotel, townhouses, and retail shops because the city already has empty hotels, unoccupied townhouses, and empty storefronts downtown, and instead, investigate and propose a transportation terminal that includes an automobile & passenger ferry to state property on the Western Shore that includes a few region-specific retail shops, traveler services such as information and local cuisine for departing/arriving passengers, a terminal office (that embraces "green" technology such as water & wind power), a pre-boarding lot, bicycle and watercraft rentals for daytrippers, and incentives to visit our growing downtown.
