Comments: The issue here is not ibogaine per se, but how treatment is managed. I am not versed in Dutch law, but elsewhere, e.g. New Zealand, if a patient demands to leave a treatment situation, unless that person is required to be there by law, the decision to leave is theirs. Sara's situation is very unfortunate. In her situation it would be important to know what protocols were in place around patient safety. For example, was there provision to inform authorities if it was deemed that her patient was a danger to himself or others? This should, in my view, be included in the consent a patient signs prior to treatment.

Comments: Please consider the greater cost of stopping such valuable work. All things contain a potential danger; driving alone is in itself a dangerous thing and kills great numbers of people, yet we have not banned vehicle use... Please don't destroy a womens' life/work/family. it is not the answer to this tradgedy. respectfully,

Comments: This accident was not the fault of Sara, nor was it the fault of her treatment. That is obvious. What is this really about? Certainly not the facts presented.

Comments: I don't see how Sara Glatt can be in any way held responsible for the actions of this man who voluntarily decided to end his treatment & leave the premises. What else could she have done?

Comments: Sara has helped many addicts return from being hardened addicts to clean and sober living members of society over the past 10 or so years and has served all well with the help of Ibogaine. Ibogaine in itself is not harmful and is a better and safer detox than what others use. She should not be held responsible for persons actions after leaving a treatment and Ibogaine cannot be blamed either for the deaths. If a person uses drugs against the knowledge of the provider they are aware that the potential for overdose is great , same as if they do decide to return to their IV habit after Ibogaine treatment. Sara would warm patients of the risks they could pose to themselves, but has no control of what they do afterwards.

Comments: my thoughts and prayers are with you sara. you have given so much to so many. i wish all the best for you. i don't see the connection between this man's fate and your responsibility to him. these can be truly difficult people to work with and they are adults. there is only so much one can do.

Comments: Sounds to me like the guy was an asshole - not ready for recovery on his own, but rejecting the help available to him. Not uncommon. I've done the iboga "cure" and can attest to its effectiveness. It's a very individual thing.

Comments: The facts of the case is it is not entirely her fault. I would suggest that in future there should be a contract signed for people to stay afterwards that is legally binding. But in this case it is not the plant or the facility that failed, but the human being who did follow the procedure of the facility.

Comments: I have met two people who have had success with this form of treatment to recover their lives and was amazed at their results. I feel it would be a more serious criminal act to punish someone for the acts of another, who against the advice of the administrator left prematurely. Please reconsider
