WHEREAS, our neighborhood contains a lot of different people who want a lot of different things; WHEREAS, most of us know much less than we think about real estate, marketing, sociology, criminology and what exactly is in a Slurpee; WHEREAS, the presence or absence of particular chain stores is not going to have a material, measurable effect on our property values, quality of life or waistlines; NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT: 1. If you want to make a difference in your community, you should stop writing and signing petitions about 7-Eleven and instead get involved: Run for the co-op board, show up to Community Board meetings, volunteer at Henry Street Settlement or Grand Street Settlement or the Educational Alliance or Project Ezra. 2. By all means hold SPC management's and the board's feet to the fire to make sure they are in fact using their best efforts to find us the best possible tenants, but accept their decisions once made and move on. 3. No whining. 4. Dan Dimas High School Football Rules!
