On the 13.12.14 it has come apparent that the above site is being developed

Residents of Seaforth want works stopped until full Planning Proposals are submitted

·The site is located within one of the few areas of Green Space left within the area.A Primarily Residential Area

·The occupiers have already removed some of the Silver Birch Trees which act as a sound barrier from the docks. They were planted by local children

·The use of using the site for car valeting will create litter from cars and any water left on the vehicles that exit the site could create black ice on what is already a Fast stretch of Road.

·This potential use would cause breach of policy’s CS3, H5/H7 and more so H13 which if allowed would cause arm to the residential Character of the area.

·The existing use as a petrol station allowed cars to come and go within minites. A car wash takes much longer so there is a real potential to cause cars to queue on a busy dual carriage way.This could prove Fatal

·Also we feel strongly that a full soil survey should be done given the previous use as any buildings and footings that breach the current floor slab could cause the sites drainage to be compromised causing the leak of hydrocarbons etc. in to the surrounding area. Also should this use be allowed the interceptor tanks must need emptying

·We feel that there are plenty of car wash facilities in the area and this location is not only un-suitable but has a real prospect of creating traffic accidents, harm to the local area by causing environmental issues, fuel leakage, litter, traffic, sound, street scene impact.
