Name: Denise Becus on Dec 2, 2008What State do you live in: 01Comments: I rescue and rehome about 250 small dogs per year that I have taken as private surrenders or rescued from Pounds and Shelters in NSW. It is a dreadful state of affairs, to many dogs are being bred by to many out of pure greed. These dogs suffer dreadfully while kept in shocking conditions to make money for back yard breeders and the like. It has to stop.Flag

Name: Mary Mc Cance on Dec 2, 2008What State do you live in: 02Comments: The killing of thousands of animals in pounds is totally unacceptable in a so called civilized society. We need to stop the "Puppy Mills" and backyard breeders churning out puppies just for profit and the cruelty involved for the breeding animals. All animals should have to be desexed before being sold from any facility.Flag

Name: Jezza Armer on Dec 2, 2008What State do you live in: 01Comments: I take care of puppies to be rehomed permanently and I see the damage that neglect and maltreatment has done to their confidence and their behaviour towards humans so it is very important to establish a system whereby people who take care of pets must be able and dedicated.Flag

Name: Samantha Ibbott-Cordi on Dec 2, 2008What State do you live in: 01Comments: I fully support an enquiry into the NSW Pet Industry. The mass production of companion animals for the pet market by backyard breeders and puppy/kitten mills has to be stopped. I care for and assist in the rescue and re homing of dogs sourced from pounds and shelters across Sydney and have seen first hand the fate of many of these animals, it is time to stop the needless slaughter.Flag

Every effort must be made towards the elimination of backyard breeders and puppy/kitten mills and the needless slaughter of healthy animals. When will everyone learn a pet is for lifeFlag
