   Comments: The Delta Bill package is a huge mistake. it will not solve our water problems but will devastate the Delta economy, send fisheries into oblivion and turn the estuary into a backwater cesspool while providing a steady flow of water south to the most junior water rights users in the state, using heavily subsidized delta water to farm the selenium laden desert.

   Comments: NO canal through or around the delta. NO guaranteed water for west side San Joaquin Valley farmers until salmon runs have been restored. Most farmers on the west side do not have historic water rights and have switched to permanent crops such as almond or stone fruit. I see no reason to reward them for using poor judgment. Westlands water district has never received 100% water delivery. Cities such as Sacramento and Stockton need to further treat their sewage to reduce the amount of ammonia and other toxins in the water released into the Sacramento River. Southern California and San Joaquin Valley cities need to consider outlawing front lawns which use a huge amount of water and require large amounts of fertilizer and herbicides which then pollute the water. San Joaquin Valley farmers need to find alternatives to flood irrigation or pay full price for their water. Flood irrigation is very inefficient.

    Comments: I have lived in the Delta the last 35 years, and I have watched the slow degradation of the Delta over that time span. I have watched water quality go down. Salt water intrusion has increased. Chemicals from farming are in our Delta water, and the governor and legislators want to create a commission to steal more water from the Sacramento River to feed a thirsty southern California area that is desert. This Delta Bill Package is just more smoke and mirrors to fool the public.

    Comments: The peripheral canal will not add one drop of water to meet the needs of the state- it will only keep the status quo and lead to the eventual complete destruction of the Bay/Delta.

    Comments: Westlands needs to GO AWAY. Jr. Water rights holders are shoving their agenda down our throats. We CANNOT guarantee water that we do not have! They DO NOT have a stranglehold on Delta water. Just because they choose to plant trees when they KNOW they are NOT entitled to the water DOES NOT MEAN we have to give it to them.

    Comments: No more water welfare!! Voters have already made it clear that the they do not want a Peripheral Canal or further destruction to the the Bay and Delta eco-systems. This Bill is contrary to the wishes of voters and should not be pursued with voter mandate.
