Comments: Increased water flows in the Delta are essential for a healthy ecosystem. Fish need fresh water flows to survive and thrive. Delta farmers need fresh water to sustain the highly productive Delta farm land. Commercial and sport fishing depends on increased fresh water flows in the Delta.

Comments: The package of water legislation is ill conceived, internally inconsistent and will make restoring the Delta far more difficult. For the first time, the legislature is proclaiming that irrigating cotton in the desert is co-equal with restoring one of the great estuaries of the world. This Mad Hatter rush to ram through complex bills in the waning days of the session is a repudiation of deliberative process and reminds one of the $50 billion energy deregulation fiasco.

Comments: this does not need to rush. Pumps can be turned off for a while and Westlands will not die.

Comments: The safety of Delta residents is being ignored. Levees need fixed, but in the rush to build a peripheral canal to take more water, residents lives and livelihoods are being placed at risk. The legislature should tend to this instead of a hastily pushed through Delta Council.

Comments: This is big business again ruining eco-systems. Stop this major building without consideration to the future of water, climate change, population growth. You are our representatives, not to do what big ag wants! Stand up for what is right. Stop diverting water! Study first the ramifications of taking water from the north to feed the subsidied agriculture of the valley.

Comments: I strongly oppose this bill (The Delta Bill Package)! Taxpayers need to be involved and vote on issues as important as these. They should not be left to be decided by a politically appointed committee. In addition, there is enough water for a healthy delta and fisheries, essential agriculture and human use. It is mis-management of the water and greed that is driving the current situation and this bill.
