Percy Road Playground in North Finchley, London (N12) is used by hundreds of families every year. It is an important place for everyone in the community. For the past few years it has started to fall apart. Most of the equipment has either been broken or has been taken away. The space is now tatty and even dangerous in some areas. It used to be great for all ages from 3 - 16 ... and their parents or guardians! It still gets alot of use because of its location and because the community needs this outdoor space, however it is now in such disrepair and no longer a pleasant place to play. We would like Barnet Council to invest in this outdoor space and replace the equipment with new, similar-style material that we can all enjoy again. We do not want it replaced with babyish equipment that older children cannot use as has been done in other local parks What is there use to be good - it just needs replacing, the ground needs renewing and making child-friendly, it needs plants and better lighting ..... it needs a makeover! We are even convinced that many local residents would gladly help out with some of the planning and the labour. We do need the Council's backing, agreement and its financial support though.
