Name: George & Kirsten Beronio on Jul 25, 2009ZIP code: 20016Comments: The MacArthur Blvd trees in particular contribute hugely to the character of our main street, the heart of the Palisades community. They are irreplaceable and shoud be impacted ONLY as a last resort. Thanks for listening.Flag

Name: Anonymous on Aug 1, 2009ZIP code: 20016Comments: In most of the District, the necessary money was spent to place the electric line underground. They should be buried here as well, rather than destroying the old, beautiful trees that define the character of Palisades, as well as providing shade and improving our air quality.Flag

Name: Dale Brown on Aug 2, 2009ZIP code: 20007Comments: The trees that were cut down at the Park near the Urban Ecology Center have decimiated the beauty of the park. We can never get those trees back. They are stumps. They provided shade, beauty, and hid the less than lovely parts of the view.Flag

Name: Mary Jo McPherson on Aug 2, 2009ZIP code: 20016Comments: I live across the street from the Trolley line and have long understood that tall trees were not to be allowed to grow over the viaduct that is in the trolley line. However, trees that were growing alongside the trolley were not removed while the viaduct was constructed about 25 years ago, and I see no reason to take them down unless they directly interfere with present lines. One tree did come down recently--it was growing in a line and did not really add to the appearance of the neighborhood. But other trees along there do not interfere with present lines and should not interfere with construction of new lines. Please carefully consider what effect the removal of any one tree will be.Flag
