Name: Karrie E. Alms on Nov 30, 2007Comments: I am 100% against a downtown museum. I do not support any taxpayer funding of this project from any taxpayer source, --- City of Peoria, Peoria County, State of Illinois, Federal tax dollars and definitely not the Peoria Public Building Commission. Just say no to this project.Flag

Name: Lance Dieckow on Nov 30, 2007Comments: My wife and I are absolutely AGAINST the museum if it takes one cent of taxpayer money. If Richerson and Bryant want it so bad, THEY can pay for it. What part of no do those people not understand. 20% against is a blatant lie and they know it!Flag

Name: Mark Dugan on Nov 30, 2007Comments: I would like to know how many of those 80% would change their mind if the question said they would have any sort of tax increase to pay for a museum I only want one IF sales or property taxes are not increased. If the museum cannot stand on iis own, we should not build it.Flag

Name: C. J. Summers on Nov 30, 2007Comments: I'm not inherently against having tax money pay for civic buildings, like a museum. However, in this case, I cannot support using tax dollars for this project. The main reason this project is so expensive is because it includes Lakeview's Art and Science museum and Planetarium. If Lakeview were to stay at its current location and the downtown museum were to only include the history and achievement elements of the museum, I believe it could be accomplished using the funds already raised to date. I do not see any justification for moving Lakeview Museum downtown at taxpayer expense. Thus, I can't support the use property, sales, or any other type of tax for this project.Flag
