Put an end to Unfair Delivery Charges

Here in the Highlands and Islands, we are all still paying excessive delivery charges and my ‘Peoples Delivery Guarantee’ campaign aims to put an end to this.

In March 2016, I presented the first ever bill on the issue of Delivery Charges to the UK Parliament. I worked with Citizens Advice Scotland and officers from Trading Standards at the Highland Council to set out the legislative amendments the UK Government could make to put an end to these unfair charges.

To date, UK Ministers have still not made any attempt to introduce this bill or any of the necessary changes, to rid us of these unfair surcharges. We already have a universal postal service and at the very least retailers should have to offer to post the parcel via the Royal Mail.
