Maintain Commercial Node Development

The Fresh Market - Why not at the south-west intersection of Dallas Hwy & Casteel Road This property is currently zoned for residential use and is outside of a commercial node. Cobb County has established a Land Use Plan that has designated where commercial development is appropriate. While we acknowledge The Fresh Market as being a potential asset to the communtiy, the chosen location is unacceptable and in flagrant disregard to the County Land Use Plan. However, West Cobb does have several locations that The Fresh Market could be located and supported by the residents of West Cobb. Areas to consider that are currently developed: The Avenues at West Cobb The Kroger Center at Powder Springs & Barrett Pkwy The Village at Old Trace Aldi store on Powder Springs Rd The Kroger Center at Macland & Lost Mtn Areas to consider that are zoned but not developed: Dallas Hwy and the Paulding County Line Barrett Pkwy & Macland This petition has been created to show there is a strong support for The Fresh Market IF it is located within an existing designated activity center or commercial node. The petition is against expading any commercial node to accomodate The Fresh Market. As a signer to this petition I am showing my support to deny the proposed retail center at the vacant 20 acre tract at the south-west intersection of Casteel Road and Dallas Highway (currently zoned residential). If you have any other suggestions as to where The Fresh Market could located that is designated for commercial development per Cobb County's Land Use Plan, please let us know in the comments.
