Name: Russell & Bari Harvey on Dec 12, 2012Comments: We are involved in fundraising for Bowling activity/competitions soon to be sport and Orchestra & Choir. We don't feel with as hard as we work to raise money for these activities it should go into an APS general fund & spread to others & risk loosing it all together. It has been hard enough to raise money for the bowling team that to see it go to others would be really frustrating. That is not fair for the other sports/activities as well to raise & have to share.Flag

Name: Darcie Schalip on Dec 14, 2012Comments: The law makes clear distinctions between nonprofits such as the Booster Clubs & the organizations that they support. In the law Booster clubs are considered to be autonomous and it's not lawful for APS to touch their funds. If APS is trying to meet a new reporting requirement imposed on them there are much better ways to do it than to make everyone put their funds into the Activities fund. What is needed is a Memorandum of Understanding or a Donation Agreement or such that spells out what reporting information APS needs to get from each of the Booster clubs in order to meet these requirements. Then if the Boosters do not comply then APS can terminate their Agreement. There's no need to hurt the Booster clubs ability to support the kids to meet these new requirements.Flag
