this petition is to ask congress to bestow more power to the voters of the united states. I would ask them to create legislation which would allow the citizens of the united states to have the right to vote on any legislation passed by the united states congress and signed into law by the president. the legislation Requested would follow these guidelines. 1) Legislation Passed by congress and signed into law by the president of the united states would have a period one to two years to place that legislation on a national ballot to be voted on by registered voters. 2)Once the Registered Voters of the United States have voted for or against the legislation and the ballots have been counted the legislation would either remain in effect or be repealed based on the vote of the people. 3)The establishment of a online source to allow voters to petition the removal of existing legislation through the listing of each Bill and allowing people to petition to remove the legislation or to petition new legislation. the petition gaining reasonable support would then be sent to congress for debate. I feel that it is important that the citizens of the united states gain a more effective way to impact legislation. This will ensure that the congress of the united states can not continue to pass legislation that is against the better judgement of the greater consensus of the populace in order to protect the established civil rights of all citizens.
