    Comments: I have to find the wide stripes to let my ramp down and get off or on the ramp. There aren't many of the wide stripes anywhere. Many times, when I come back to my van, someone has parked on the stripes, so that I can't get back into my van. I need every inch of the stripes. My independence relies on being able to drive where I want and having a place to park. I came alone to Living History Farms in Iowa, to see you campaign last year. Please help us.

    Comments: Most drivers just don't understand the width of space needed to lower a lift or a ramp and get the wheelchair to the ground AND off the device. I wish the drivers license bureaus would make every driver watch a video (before giving them their license or renewal) showing how we have to struggle to even get into a grocery! I have left nasty notes occasionally informing violators that if I didn't fear damaging my lift, I would like to smack it down upon their improperly parked vehicle to prove that we need all the space of that van accessible spot! My peeve has always been with those not allowed to park there at all, but I know there are many who take unfair advantage of their placards or license plates to park in the larger spots they don't really need!

    Comments: I have such a difficult time parking ..getting a spot to lay my ramp down.. lined area staying clear of other handicapped and non cars and motorcycles.. carts stores don't remove ..ada law requires it. Mostly I see side loading wheelchair signed areas used by passenger cars. Think sign must say side loading powered wheelchairs..vans & trucks modified only. No one enforces any handicap parking because they don't want to lose a customer.. or confrontation to a employee. Cops don't come out .. its simply abused. Veterns use our spaces with a license plate not reflective of ada law. A bent pinky gets a vetern a disability with the military. My state..NV states you must be certified perm disabled by a licensed dr. So many issues . Towing violators should be required by each state or reduce federal money. Just like other ticketing requirements on our hwy require x amount or funds not given. Fine the business not calling a tow.. we shoildnt have to be the one to sit there. I waited in rain.. cold.. for cars owners and motorcycle ..to move their illegally parked cars. Blocking my ramp in van spaces and reg spaces that made it hard to lay down a 8'clearance needed.. because no one enforces lined areas. At malls they tell motorcycle riders to park in the white lined areas. Please pass laws so my paralysed body isn't subject to more frustration and effects to my body. .. our bodies. We just want access for vand costing $65k .. I pay yearly taxes on and at purchase. My van allows me to do my chores alone ..living without a aid ..govt has reduced coverages ..yet not made it any better to live handicapped.
