Comments: Regulations for Handicapped Parking accommodations in America, are used as standards for other countries around the world. The example America has set in ignoring the parking needs of millions of drivers having to off-load wheelchairs from vans is tragic!

Comments: I am Paul Segal’s mother and when I am with him while he drives I am shocked and disgusted at the lack of parking for his van and lift needs. It is almost impossible for him to park these days from so much abuse and so few van accessible spaces that are always taken by cars not vans! The system is clearly broken and needs a major overhaul immediately!

Comments: My wife and her wheechair face this problem daily. I have been an accessibility advocate for over 40 years as a licensed California architect. and Its high time we make these necessary and long overdue adjustments. Please apply some common sense to the ADA and help those who desperately need this simple and straightforward accommodation!

Comments: Please help. Our police will not write tickets to people who park in the access asile. This blocks our access to our velicles and to the sidewalk.

Comments: I have experiienced both sides. I have a spinal cord injury, and was luckey to have recovered enough to work. Now I am in a wheel chair and know what it is like to open a door, to get around. Also the so called mobility vans are an investment of 30,000 to 50000 dollares and they evan get 10 to20 year financing, We need help we do not wan't to be a drain on the government, we would like to do our part.

Comments: As one of many wheelchair-bound paras with wheelchair lifts/ramps here in Fresno, we can all use a little help here. It is so extremely difficult to find an open "Van Accessible" parking space without a sedan parked in it, let alone a van of any kind!

Comments: I watch able-bodied, people take these spaces for themselves, time and time again. I have never seen the law enforced. The handicapped spaces are usually full. I don't know where a lot of these people get the placards, but it's definitely being abused.
