The mayor and county commission are considering massive cuts to services and county jobs, which threaten the health and safety of our communities. WE SAY NO!
-We are already suffering.
-We will lose millions more in matched federal and state funds.
-Our public institutions have the responsibility to provide for the health and safety of our community.
Last year the county stripped community resources such as children’s services, food banks and domestic violence programs of 30% of their county funding. In addition to depriving residents of critical services, hundreds were left unemployed. Furthermore, by cutting services we sacrifice many matched federal and state grants—a source of over $403 million for Miami-Dade.
Our officials must demonstrate their commitment to preserve the resources that we so desperately need. A thriving public sector ensures the health of our community now and in the future.
