Approximately 25,000 vehicles travel along Penn Avenue per day. Since the light at Penn and Coal has been removed in 2009, this intersection has seen more than double the amount of accidents at any other intersection along Penn Avenue in Wilkinsburg. We, business owners and residents of Wilkinsburg, are concerned about safety in Wilkinsburg and about accessibility to our businesses. We would like to see less accidents and safer traffic flow, and we believe this can be achieved by re-installing the light at Penn Avenue and Coal Street.
