Comments: I walk my dog every day in the Falconwood Meadow; it is astonishing how often you hear squealing brakes and honking horns as heavy commercial vehicles thunder through a narrow gap en route to/from Pear Tree Farm. Something should be done about BOTH nuisances, before someone is maimed or killed. The land-fill at Pear Tree Farm is an eye-sore, and I'm unaware whether Croydon and Tandridge Councils have pursued this with appropriate vigour?

Comments: The Environment Agency's aim is to protect our environment, yet by granting a Waste Transfer Licence to an unapproved GREEN BELT SITE, they are destroying it. Planning permission has never been granted for this site, but dubious rights based on unlawful history of use, has slipped under the Planning radar! The Environment Agency should act now to terminate this licence if they are to prove they are acting for our Environment and not supporting its destruction. .

Comments: fully support this petition, which has progressively worsened, over several years. which has made featherbed lane and surrounding green area overrun and highly dangerous on all adjacent roads, particularly the pinch point at forestdale residentual estate.

Comments: Activities at the site are spiralling out of control - the proprietor's blatant disregard of planning regulations, effect on the immediate green belt and woodland is making a mockery of both Croydon and Tandridge Councils. Proprietors have been economical with the truth in a recent planning application to Tandridge Council. To date there is little 'transfer' of waste going on, but a steady increase and accumulation of rubbish on the site - it has to be seen to be believed - AND STOPPED!

Comments: ********Not a Signature for the petition********* Whilst I respect what you are all saying I have to disagree as families have run and operated the site for generations, many of you are newish comers living transientish lives compared to the generations who have lived served worked and traded from the location you mention. Come on guys, try being nice and talk, times are hard enough for every one I am sure so give the people operating on Pear Tree Farm a break, as if the recession has not been bad enough. Give Peace a chance ay! Best wishes and God Bless James Collins

Comments: ******THIS IS NOT A SIGNATURE FOR THIS PETITION**** This is to agree with mr collins in full. This family has lived and worked very hard at peartree farm since the 1930s and im sure they follow the law , rules and regulations to the letter. Have the residents taken into consideration the amount of jobs they have put into jeopady by constructing this petition with these unfounded malicous rumours. Considering that the family have been living and working within the law , rules and regulations since the 1930s if the new residents do not like it ,maybe they should have been a bit more paticular where they chose to live.

Comments: ***THIS IS NOT A SIGNATURE FOR THE PETITION*** I totally agree with the previous two comments. This poor familys' lives are being made a misery by a group of local residents regularly trespassing on their property at night disturbing their sleep by the noise they make. These people should be ashamed of themselves. They are the ones acting illegally - not the owners of Pear Tree Farm! Please do not sign this petition.

Comments: ******THIS IS NOT A SIGNATURE FOR THIS PETITION**** I also agree with the above three comments these are decent , honest ,hardworking people who have obviously complied with all the rules and regulations over the years because if they hadnt im sure they would have been shut down before now. also i would like to point out they must have paid their taxes which i can only assume is a very large amount of money on such a large property.

Comments: This is not a signature for this petition. I have just come across this petition and having read the above comments i would like to point out that the operators at pear tree farm have full and lawful planning permission granted by croydon council. I would also like to point out that they have a lawful waste transfer licence granted by the enviroment agency . So it seems to be that while they have full permission for what they are doing , theres nothing anyone can do about it. I read one comment that said it is illegal and immoral . What is illegal is the few residents that are tresspassing on the farm in the middle of the night " they know exactly who they are and so do the police", who are dealing with the matter. The way i see it, it is just ordinairy people trying to earn a living to feed there families. If anyone feels that they need the proper information regarding this matter then they should contact croydon council for it was the council who granted the permission.

Comments: The number of skip lorries travelling down Featherbed Lane to this site has increased significantly in the recent past. What monitoring are the Croydon and Tandridge Councils carrying out on this rubbish heap ? I thought there was an enforcement notice issued restricting the level of activity on the site to 1997 levels. What boundaries are being imposed by the Councils on further expansion of this site? This whole affair highlights the complete failings of local planning laws.

Comments: Answering mr newmans comment, firstly the amount of skip lorrys that enter peartree farm has actually decreased since 1997. So it seems that his information is wrong .mind you most of the information on this petition is wrong . As it has been highlighted in this petition so many times before, the operators at peartree farm HAVE FULL LAWFULL PLANNING PERMISSION . Also it has been said before, if anyone has any doubt with what goes on at peartree farm please feel free to contact croydon council as it was croydon council that granted all the permission at peartree farm . It seems to me that the residents are all to quick to complain about what they dont like on the site. But do they realise that croydon council actually organise and run a motorcycle track at peartree farm for under privileged children at the owners expense Also do they realise that mr smith works in conjunction with his neighbours the scout foundation also at his own expense but there is no recognition for that either , may be if people really knew the facts perhaps their veiws might be a bit different . All i can say is that im dreading the thought of retirement if this is all i have got to look forward to is to complain about people that have no effect on me and are actually going about their business in a lawfull manor.

Comments: I cannot believe that this mindless ranting continues? ranting that's all it appears to be to me just because its not your way of life or chosen career. This is the world now though I am afraid, too much of not letting people getting on and this is what is costing our country dear! Are there not more important issues in life to deal with during these tough times for UK plc as a country, we need to get this country out of debt and all of this complaining is just another financial burden and frankly a waste of time for us as a country. Just live and let live. Without industrious citizens like the the hard working ladies and gentlemen at Pear Tree Farm, where would we all be, because public sector employee wages will not get the country out of this predicament so I do hope the powers that be consider this as a waste of time and money and lets the ladies and gentlemen of England just get on and work. Sorry to be a by standing thorne in your sides, but sometimes these things just have to be said and what you are doing is to me clearly wrong. Kind regards and best wishes James

Comments: Gosh, I had my say and have just taken the time to read other non petitioners as myself and this seems to be getting quite a following, quite an interesting case as for a someone who takes an interest in interesting and peculiar complaints such as these. I think I would like to help champion a campaign to support these guys human rights at the farm as this appears to amount to a violation of them and harassment to me? I will look this up and think I may pop up to the farm to introduce myself to the owners to help them as this seems to be extremely unfair to me? I have studied such cases where petitioners have actually been noted showing an unhealthy obsession making the land owners lives a misery, which I should imagine would holds all sorts of implications and gets really quite interesting. I am pleased that others feel this is all a little harsh on Pear Tree Farm. Best wishes James

Comments: Oh dear, just read a few more... Commmmme onnnn.. Hands up, who is being a little childish here? putting comments such as bribery and corruption.. oooooo, thaaats low... I think that alone probably helped in making this campaign look a liiiiiiittle fascicle don't you think.. Is that not libellous aimed at the Council and the Farm?? I will research that one and report back soon. This is really quite exiting, something fun to do of an evening. Ha! I needed a worth while hobby. Should I e mail the Web Master with my findings direct? Actually the site operator has my e mail address, perhaps they could e mail me directly please and I can keep you up to speed with the evening work that I do on this or comments can be posted. Thinking about it, its probably better posted on the site this way to create a case history for reference purposes. I will post my findings for all soon, but give me a while you faithful supporters of our England and industry! Looking forward to helping preserve the rights for our fellow country men and women's rights to work. Well, for now and in the words of bugs bunny "thats all folks" Now that's just me being childish ;0) James
