Name: Jim Miller on Jun 5, 2010Comments: I have been surfing and swimming in the ocean waters along South Palm Beach and Lantana beach for over 40 years. I have experienced most of the varied conditions that the ocean presents ie. currents, wave dynamics, rip tides. I can assure you that these proposed structures (breakwaters and groins) are life threatening. More rip tides will be present channeling the water between the breakwaters and the beach as close as they are proposed would give no room for water to escape once inside the breakwater field. This would cause a catastrophic effect for the safety of Humans,Marine life, and cause more beach erosion. This is not the solution.Flag

I was born and raised in Florida and the sea turtles are a big part of who we are as a state. Also, the last time this happened it only made the problem worse. Please listen to REAL residents of this beautiful state. Preserve nature or we will all be sorry!Flag
