Walter Payton is one of the most loved icons in Chicago history and deserves to be honored with a statue of him outside Soldier Field. We are asking the Chicago Park District to change their mind and allow this to happen. Soldier Field is a monument to war veterans and will always be. However, considering the main function of Soldier Field is hosting the home games for the Chicago Bears and Walter Payton is the greatest Bear of all-time, this statue is well deserved. UPDATE: The Chicago Park District is agreeing to meet with the Payton family to address the statue. PLEASE CONTINUE to sign this petition.
