Name: Peggy Houglum on May 5, 2008Comments: The State Liquor Control Board is one of the most archaic and most corrupt institutions I have ever encountered of the 6 states across the country in which I have lived! When will they listen to the desires of the people they serve rather than their own personal interests!!Flag

Name: Aaron D Nelson on May 5, 2008Comments: I've been waiting some time for PA to adopt a reasonable policy for shipping wine. As a person originally from another state, I have found the liquor and beer laws in PA to be archaic and in need of substantial change to maintain current population levels, etc. I'm proud to sign this petition.Flag

Name: Michael Grant on May 5, 2008Comments: Pennsylvania is known as a commonwealth because its government is meant to operate according to the general will, and for the well being of its citizenry. The continuance of government ownership and regulation of the wine business is nearing its end because it is no longer the preference of residents. Moreover, the Johnstown flood tax no longer is utilized for flood victims, and it goes right to the general fund for discretionary use by lawmakers; this practice is another tax that hurts our business owners and staff. When government inefficiencies occur, alcohol gets unfairly taxed (referencing Onorato tax). The point is, we the people need to encourage consumer choice, and not discourage growth.Flag

Name: Mark Weintrub on May 5, 2008Comments: I moved to PA several years ago and I am appalled at the archaic laws that prevent us from enjoying our favorite wines and the limitations of the selection from the state run wine stores. PA needs to get in compliance with the Supreme Court decision and open commerce to all wine lovers in the state.Flag
