Comments: Fr. Peter: Mr. Arizin is a model for all past, present and future Villanovans. I think we would honor his legacy and the schools fundemental principals that we all strive for in our Christian journey.

Comments: Paul was a classmate and friend. As Sports Editor of the Villanovan and later as an assistant in the Sports Info office (we both li ved in Austin hall) I got to know him as more than a baketball player. If you get the Wildcat Club News Letter you'll get some of my personal recollections. Villanova should be proud to honor such a class guy. Bill Canino '50

Comments: A well deserved honor for the player that brought Villanova basketball onto the big stage. After his NBA career Paul had a very successful business career with IBM and had always been available in his later years to counsel recent Villanova teams. Isn't that what a Villanova education is all about

Comments: Yes, I was lucky enough to be a student during "St Paul the Tall"'s collegiate career. His fall-away shot was unstoppable, he was a walk-on, and you could hear his asthma wheeze as he came up the floor. He was ever modest despite all his honors; a great 'Cat. I'm all for "Paul Arizin Court"; much better than a commercial name like "Hostess Twinkie Hall" or somesuch dumbness.

Comments: Paul and I were students at the same time. We did not know one another personally. He was regarded by all of his fellow students as a gentleman, which is what Villanova is trying to produce. That he was a great athlete and brought much good publicity to Villanova as such is important, also. He distinguished himself after graduation as an athlete, gentleman, father, grandfather, and fine human being. He was a credit to a very great university.

Comments: I met Paul Arizin, when I lived in Springfield, PA. I played softball on a team with him. He was a real gentleman & very humble. I was a Villanova freshman at the time. He never mentioned that he had played basketball for Villanova, but I knew of his wonderful background. He was the ultimate Villanovan & the basketball court should be named in his honor.

Comments: I saw Paul Arizin play a number of times with the Philly Warriors from 1960 to 1962. He was teamed with The Wilt, Tom Gola and Guy Rodgers. He was a great player who played his ENTIRE college and professional career in the Philly area. His average from 1960 to 1962 was over 20 points per game. The Villanova Administration should name the Pavilion basketball court the Paul Arizin Court after the best basketball player to graduate from Villanova. In 1978, he was inducted into the Hall of Fame as a player.
