My father, Paul Thomas, spent close to 20 years at Byron-Bergen doing what he loved; coaching. Right behind his family, coaching was the most important thing to him, and even today after being retired for 4 years, he still offers his guidance to some of the student-athletes there today. He is by far the most selfless person I know, and I can think of no greater way to show our appreciation for him than to name the track and field in his honor. A man who has sacrificed so much of his time and energy for his school, community, and nation, deserves to see his name hung high over the track that wouldn't exist had it not been for his persistence and dedication. I'd like to collect 1,000 signatures, and present the list of names to the school as confirmation that the community feels the same way that I do. In my opinion, this is the least we can do for a man who has given us so much. Thank you, Mike
