Name: Claudia Joanne Renshaw on Mar 29, 2013Comments: I have a facebook friend who is "trans". She is very young and was once homeless, living on the streets because of her gender identification. She goes to college now and works tirelessly in shelters and kitchens to feed the homeless. Perhaps she is an angel sent to personally experience the horrific conditions that the disenfranchised must endure so that she can be a more credible witness! She posted on my Facebook in response to the DOMA Supreme Court hearings: "...it's (same sex marriage) not as important as being able to walk around without the fear of getting your ass beaten or being killed. I do that every day I'm out. I have no idea what's going to happen to me when I walk out that door. The likelihood of me being murdered is 4x more likely as a trans woman than it is as a cis-woman. Not pushing for a trans inclusive ENDA or housing non-discrimination bills before marriage equality, which only affects the people privileged enough to be able to worry about getting married. Sorry, but this fight should have been pushed back until the world was truly safe for all within the LGBT umbrella."Flag

How are my rights as a human to be able to provide for myself being respected, PASS ENDA NOW!Flag
