Name: Eileen Smith on Jan 25, 2010Comments: I agree that this road needs completely digging out and repaired to a proper standard. I do feel there is something happening beneath this road i.e. broken piping, as these potholes had started to appear before the very bad weather. I really do not feel that throwing a couple of shovels of gravel into these holes is the answer. Everybody who owns a car pays road tax and, therefore, the roads should be maintained to a good standard. If this isn't done, then it will affect the properties along this side of Parkway, so I think this should be dealt with as a matter of urgency.Flag

Name: Mr Isaac Kironde on Jan 25, 2010Comments: Driving up Parkway New Addington, just after the Shell Petrol station, reminds me of the roads in many African countries, where infrastructure is neglected. Is the British Government telling us that New Addington is the 'forgetten' part of UK? Thank you Mr Pelling for this petition.Flag

Name: Mrs Catherine Kironde on Jan 25, 2010Comments: The roads in New Addington, Parkway, Fieldway, Brierley are really disgusting, to say the least. Proper carriage way work needs to be done on these roads. The occasional patching up just can't hold up against the traffic. Thank you Mr Pelling.Flag

Name: Mr And Mrs C Wimble on Jan 25, 2010Comments: I live at 101 Parkway and we have two family cars. Since the bad weather the road surface has literally crumbled away. As this is one of the main routes through New Addington, we get a lot of heavy traffic and this has greatly increased since work started on the Lidl at the bottom of the road. The grass verge has been totally destroyed by the large lorries. It is vertually impossible to avoid these potholes and they seem to increase in size with each passing day. The government are quick enough to take your road tax but seem to take as long as possible before carrying out any major repairs to the roads! If any damage is caused to our cars we will be claiming the costs back from the council.Flag

Name: Keith Harries on Jan 25, 2010Comments: This road is quite unsuited to the traffic which is expected to drive along it these days and is in constant disrepair because of this. The provision of The Tramlink terminus and re-route of the busses means that Parkway now provides a through route for heavy lorries, busses and much other commercial traffic that it was never intended for. It is not wide enough so the verges are always just mud baths and ditches with residents cars in constant danger of being clipped by passing traffic.Flag

Name: Anonymous on Jan 30, 2010Comments: At this particular time roadworks have been commenced in Parkway which have been long, long, overdue. However, the state of neglect in and around Central Parade, including dangerously loose paving slabs and kerb stones, is an absolute disgrace, and it is about time the Council got on with the job of regeneration it promised for this area. We are only too willing to add our names to your petition to the House of Commons.Flag
