Comments: I should not be forced to PAY TO PARK so that the train station can profit It is an inconveniance to take the bus to begin with, however a necessity to save transportation cost for me. If I had to pay I would most likely drive rather than take the bus eliminating more money from RIPTA

Comments: After I graduated high school, I managed to obtain an internship in Providence. Had it not been for RIPTA and the Park-n-Rides, I would not have been able to afford transportation to work (and would not have advance as far as I have today). Please consider how deeply this could effect the community. Thank you for your time.

Comments: I am totally against the sale of this property without identifying a comparable parcel for use by commuters. I take RIPTA 5 days a week to a job in Providence. It is unthinkable that in this economy politicians would consider forcing people to pay for the privilege of getting to work. I understand that the Amtrak station parking garage is a barking dog and it's very enticing to think that by removing a commuter lot you can fill the spots in the garage but I shouldn't be forced to subsidize an ill conceived idea. Further - unless you remove the P&R lot at the junction of Rts 2&4 I, for one, will simply drive down the road and continue to park for free - what's another 5 minutes added to my day. Enough with selling out the people of RI for stupid ideas - do we really need yet another CVS at this location? I'm certain that the only reason they are interested is to try to wrestle pharmacy business from Walmart. This is another incredibly stupid idea. Comments: The down of North Kingstown does not require the headaches that would be caused by removing this parking space and replacing it with an unnecessary CVS. Anything and everything one could get at CVS could be acquired at either Stop and Shop across the street or the Wal Mart 10 seconds down the road. To follow through with this move would harm NK taxpayers, commuters and surrounding businesses. I personally work in Providence in the non-profit sector and simply cannot afford to burn gasoline in traffic daily (nor can I afford to pay the absurd cost of parking in the likely event I do not arrive early enough to get a reserved spot).

Comments: Forcing the motorist to pay at Wickford Junction will only put him/her back on the road and subsequently they will not be using RIPTA so the state will lose both ways. Since the state is looking in every nook and cranney for revenue why dont you reinstall the $47 fee for auto inspections? Tne mathcalculates to $4 per year per car and there are appprox 375000 cars each year being inspected x $4 =1.5m!!!!! Also the guys doing class 7and 8vehicles ( large trucks) have been squeezed for eons at $15 per insp and just think how much is involved inspecting these large vehicles so raise the fee to $50 and take more out for the state and add that to the coffers. Last years legislative sesion closed out by allowing the state insp garage to charge $100 for a REINSPECTION of a school bus and it is the MOST subjective process possible!!! Why not charge $30 per inspection up front eliminate the reinspection charge and collect for every bus oh and by the way the busses are inspected every 6 months ( talk about a captive audience) OR since there are only a dozen employees in the garage why not authorize the workto be done in the private sector who by the way also do the cars that transport the very same kids who ride on the busses. And from my experienced observation the auto inspection program has proven to be extrordiarily reliable. I could go on about the grave inequity of the Newport bridge tolls after all we are trying to do economic development not hinder growth.

Comments: Why take away a no cost incentive to reducing fuel consumption. People will weigh the cost of paid parking Vs. driving cost and when they get too similar, will simply drive adding to congestion. Bad decision to try and force success on the parking garage

Comments: I feel the elimination of this park n ride without the adequate replacement of parking without a fee is a disservice to the people living in this area that utilize public transportation. The parking at the train terminal is already being abused by the people parking in the lot at Webster Bank therefore saving the parking fee.

Comments: I am very upset that the state is considering doing away with the current FREE Park-n-Ride in North Kingstown. To require people to pay to park goes against the idea of encouraging people to carpool and use mass transit. You should at least provide an alternative FREE Park-n-Ride in close proximity to the current one.

Comments: As a new resident to Rhode Island residing in North Kingstown, I commute to Providence for work. The Park-n-Ride has been an extremely economical solution, especially in light of my newly single status. The removal (or charge to park at the Wickford Train Station) of the Park-n-Ride will have a great impact on people such as myself in this already budget-conscious environment. If the State does in fact sell out to CVS, then it MUST provide another free Park-n-Ride in a convenient location nearby to accommodate its many commuters that will be affected.
