We, the undersigned, are petitioning the Honorable Governor Lincoln D. Chafee, the RI Department of Administration and the RI Department of Transportation from eliminating the FREE park-n-ride located at Rt 2 & 102 in North Kingstown and thereby forcing the people of North Kingstown and surrounding communities who utilize this park-n-ride on a daily basis to have to go to the Wickford Train Station and PAY to Park, which would be another hidden TAX burden on the people.
Further, if this park-n-ride at the intersection of RT2 & RT102 is going to be sold to any private entity such as, CVS Corporation, we, the hard working citizens who depend on this park-n-ride to not only conserve our monthly family expense of gasoline but to alleviate congestion on our state highways, therefore requiring less maintenance dollars needed for our state roads, do hereby request an alternative FREE park-n-ride replacement within close proximity of the current location.
