Furthermore, I thought it would have been in the councils interest to ENCOURAGE people INTO this struggling town. Please Reconsider for the sake of our south Pembrokeshire community.Flag

Likewise, why have yellow lines on our roads if no-one bothers to obey them and no-one gets prosecutedFlag

Pembroke Dock needs to survive and flourish again--car parking charges are another nail in the coffin to drive people to the out of town stores. There are shop-keepers trying hard to survive inthe town and they need support---THINK ON P.C.C --it is the electorate that pay and you must listen!Flag

Name: Lynda Richmond on Oct 29, 2009Postcode: SA72 6UTComments: It is already extremely difficult and dangerous trying to cross many roads (notably Dimond Street and Meyrick Street) in the town with two very small children. Parking charges will make this much worse. What should be being done is encouraging responsible parking in the Western Way car park.Flag

Name: Peter Richmond on Oct 29, 2009Postcode: SA72 ^UTComments: Parking is already a problem outside banks etc. In Meyrick Street people park on dropped kerbs, double and even trebble park. Charging for car parks will only make matters worse and more dangerous for the vulnerableFlag

Name: Mark Beveridge on Nov 3, 2009Postcode: SA72 6UTComments: My business, which is based in Lower Meyrick Street, provides home care services for our vulnerable adults in Pembroke, Pembroke Dock and the surrounding area. I employ 31 carers who need to visit my office, sometimes several times a day, to pick up medication, new care plans, or report any concerns etc. If car parking charges are introduced this will have a severe impact on my being able to provide this service effectively.Flag

Name: Samantha Wilson on Nov 4, 2009Postcode: SA72 6UTComments: I am the Manager of Safe Haven Training in Meyrick Street. I am opposed to the parking charges for three reasons: 1. Local shop owners in Pembroke Dock have it hard enough with Lidl, ASDA, Tescos and now maybe Aldi on the doorstep. This will only penalise them even further as people with not shop if they have to pay. At the moment there is the luxury of being able to park in ASDA and walking up to town if this option is also removed you are killing off the few shops that are there. 2. The parking situation (especailly in Meyrick Street) with people double parking will noly get worse. Who will police these charges 3. We offer NVQs in helatha nd Social Care. Carers need to visit our office for training. If parking fees are introduced people that are not the highest paid workers, but doing an essential job are being targeted. By going ahead with these plans you will be putting the final nail in the coffin for Pembroke Dock.Flag

Name: Elaine Wetherall on Mar 10, 2010Postcode: SA72 6HLComments: This is complete and utter madness - there is so little left in Dimond Street the council should be paying us to go there and support the local businesses, not forcing folk to go to Tesco. At this rate the few surviving businesses will be gone in a matter of months and there'll be nothing left in Pembroke Dock. The council should be encouraging folk into the town centre, not discouraging them. Another example of PCC madness!Flag

Name: Julie Davis on Mar 10, 2010Postcode: BegellyComments: I believe parking charges will drive people away from the town at the very time it needs them. Its not the amount of charge, its whether you have change and worrying about what time you have to get back to your car before you get a fine.Flag
