Name: Chris Dove on Mar 12, 2010Comments: I am very frustrated when I see businesses close down when I know it is a simple change in policy that could help to revive the economy in Headingley. Partly to blame is the inadequate parking facilities for shoppers and visitors to Headingley. Since resident only parking was implemented many streets around the shopping area of Headingley are largely deserted during the day whilst residents are out at work etc. Shoppers and visitors are forced away from Headingley to shop and do business elsewhere. The residents of Headingley would like to see a bustling high street, so why have policies been put in place to “allegedly” help the residents that actually threaten the life blood of Headingley and the thing that is dear to most residents. Irresponsible parking policies are killing HeadingleyFlag

Name: Anonymous on Mar 15, 2010Comments: here here. I fully agree with this proposal. It is outragous that cars cannot park when there are so many spaces empty during holidays and especially the summer holidays. IF you cannot stop to buy a sandwhich or buy some fruit or stop at the bank then you will go to the next urban area that does allow this. this will be devastaing for Headingley. bring back common sense - bring back the parking.Flag

Name: Anonymous on Mar 24, 2010Comments: We must have parking in Headingley and I suggest the Lounge site could keep the facade and be made into a small multi storey. Also the Arndale car park needs to be more appropriately designated - as it stands its just a money making scam. The rugby and cricket grounds should supply parking for their evvents without inconveniencing residentsFlag

Name: Helen Simpson on Mar 24, 2010Comments: I support this petition as I work in Headingley and it is extremely difficult to find a parking spot for the day when working and there are very few 2hr parking spots for shoppers and passing trade due to the severley restricted parking zones in and around the centre.Flag

Name: Carol Rowley on Mar 25, 2010Comments: Many times I have driven round Headingley to visit the local shops and been unable to find a parking space so have gone elsewhere. I also use the Lloyds bank for business and often have large amounts of cash on me which means I don't feel comfortable taking the bus or walking miles to get to the bank once I have managed to locate a parking spot.Flag
