Tonight there was an accident on Battlefields Lane (south), Stockmans junction. There was a car parked within 10 metres of the junction which the driver reported he went around and in doing so collided with a car coming out of the junction. Luckily it was only the cars this time that were damaged and no injuries were sustained. After speaking to the officers in charge they agreed that the vehicle could have played a part in the accident but as there are no yellow lines there they are powerless to issue a ticket. They advised me to contact highway agency as they agreed this is an issue. This has been an accident waiting to happen as i have lived here for 12 years and often here cars skidding to a halt to avoid an accident it was only a matter of time. My main concern is that next time one of the cars may mount the pavement or not see a pedestrian and they will be injured. I am asking people to sign this petition so i can also pass this on to the highway agency with the hope that they will deal with this matter.
