On Nov.3, 10 a known bully pulled out a knife on my son a few feet outside the school grounds at lunchtime. They are high school students, both 16 yrs old. Now I have been battling the Thames Valley District School Board in London Ontario ever since. Today, Nov 29, this bully is returning to school, but needs to be monitored by an adult at all times. He is being charged by the police, waiting to go to court for this matter. The school only suspended him. They are excusing him being that he has "special needs" and no other schools has programs that can help him like Montcalm SS in London. His special needs are some learning disabilities. Not sure on what exactly as they couldn't give all the details. They also believe that he isn’t a threat to anyone and that he doesn’t really understand the seriousness of this matter. Anyways, speaking with my children and their friends, other parents, this kid is a known bully and a drug user. He has done this in the past also and has been expelled from that school for it. How many more children have to suffer from this child? Next time, it could be worst, someone could get seriously hurt or killed. I believe this is a few steps above bullying, he was carrying a weapon, and he took it out of his pocket and threatened my son with it. He shouldn't be back in school. My son shouldn't be forced to face him. Bottom line, he endangered my son with a deadly weapon, should he return to school? Please help me by signing this petition against the Thames Valley District School Board in hopes to have this kid removed and away from all children there. They have been promoting zero tolerance for bullying, not zero tolerance with special conditions. Let the school board know that this is unacceptable and we want this kid removed from the school. It doesn’t matter what kind of disability he has, a crime is a crime, violence is violence, and he is not cut out to be around other children. Zero tolerance means zero tolerance. Dear Thames Valley District School Board: We as parents strongly feel that you have made the wrong choice by letting this aggressive child back into the school. By doing this, you are putting all of our children there in harm’s way. We ask of you to find alternative measure for this situation and keep him away from our children.
