Comments: To: Gov. Patterson and to everyone else Q: Would the father of the white thug who died, the thug who menancingly trespassed on the lawn of this family, be in prison if the roles were reversed? I think not. Cowards (thugs) run in packs; imagine two cars of hoodlums driving up to your family home with threats and more. It happens so often even in this day and age. It is my belief that the police would never have arrived in time to prevent harm to his loved ones. Also, what would have happened to his son in school? Why is it none of the other criminals were arrested? They should have a criminal record also as they broke the law. Gov. Patterson, PLEASE PARDON MR. WHITE WHO WAS ONLY TRYING TO DEFEND HIS FAMILY. His record speaks to the fact that he is a decent man. Thank you.

Comments: I believe in the defense of John White, that he should not have to face charges of doing any time in prison for self defense. John only reacted to trying his best to defend himself and Family. Lets say in the same situation john was white there would most likely have been no charges bought upon him because of his skin color. John deserves jutice and i hope patterson agrees.

Comments: I respectfully request that Governer Patterson pardons Mr. White before leaving office. It is a sad day when one cannot protect there own household. clearly Mr. White is an upstanding citizen who has been a positive contributor to this society and does not belong in prison. Thank you! Comments: This man was at home protecting his family from intruders. He did not go out looking to harm anyone. Does the law provide for protection against "some" intruders and not others? The the law allow "some" to protect themselvesonly when the victim and intruder are of the same hue?

Comments: those elected to the "seat of judgement"(court judges, magistrates, etc.) have the power to rule over a man's life,-but if these elected oficials faced the exact same circumstances, how would they react. Maybe the laws should be rewritten to reflect that there is(unfortunately) the existence of "double standard" rulings in the court systems, and suffer the embarassemnt of other countries who contend that we are not the country of laws and justice we claim to be. The movies and television genres endlessly portray scenarios of self-defence VIA guns, machine guns, etc. but how many court rulings would have the courage to demand censorship upon the over-saturation of "Violence" in the various modes of entertainment? The movies always show that one person faced with incredible odds has no other resorce but to use deadly force to defend self or family. These are things that will not easily be resolved, but when a man hasn't the right to defend his family from iminent danger, somebody better say something soon, cause you ain't seen nothing yet! Not a white issue yet, but could be one tomorrow.

Comments: The constitution give us the right to bear arms and protect our family and property...... Or does that right only apply to white folks. When a black person, male or female envokes their constitutional right, we are prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. WHY IS THAT ??????? Second amendment: ...... the right of the people to keep and bear arms..

Comments: this family has my support. gov. patterson can make a difference before he leaves office that would be historical. it could happen to anyone of us. black people in office seem afraid to do the right thing by their own people. why elect them to office? the only thing at stake is this man's life. are we our brother's keeper?

Comments: This is s miscarriage of justice. My husband John White is an upstanding person, a good father and provider for his family. He did not go looking for trouble, trouble came to his doorstep in the middle of the night. I am baffled by the judicial system in finding him guilty and those who were culpable to go free. JUSTICE IS REALLY BLIND WHEN IT COMES TO THE DEFENSE OF ONES FAMILY AND HOME.
