To Kate Rooney and Palo Alto Utilities, As residents living in the vicinity of Eleanor Pardee Park, we wish to make our position known on that we strongly oppose the installation of toilets in park. Eleanor Pardee Park is not a regional park, like Rinconada, Greer or Flood Park, but rather a neighborhood park. The park already sustains too much use and we believe that toilets will dramatically increase use by encouraging all day stays. Further, we are concerned that the presence of toilets will exacerbate the level of crime that we are confronting in Crescent Park. While we respect the right of fellow Palo Altans to provide their opinions on this issue, we believe that residents that live in and around the park should play a significant role in determining what is and what is not good for the park and the neighborhood. We strongly oppose toilets in the park, and look forward to having our opinion heard.
