Next Steps
A shortlist of sites will be produced at Sustainable Communities Overview and Scrutiny Committee on 28th February 2013, this shortlist will form part of the Gypsy and Traveller Local Plan and will be presented to Executive for approval in March.
If the Executive approve the draft Gypsy and Traveller Local Plan, the draft document will be put before Full Council in April. If Full Council approve the draft Gypsy and Traveller Local Plan for publication, the document will be published in May. A six week consultation period will follow in which interested parties will have the opportunity to submit representations on the Gypsy and Traveller Local Plan.
All representations will be considered
by the Council and necessary amendments will be made to the Local Plan before
the document is submitted to the Secretary of State for examination. The
expected timetable for the Gypsy and Traveller Local Plan is as follows:
Overview and Scrutiny Committee - 28th February 2013 (Council meeting at Chicksands to decide on short list of sites)
Executive - 19th March 2013
Full Council - 18th April 2013
Submission to the Secretary of State - October 2013
Examination - January 2014
Inspectors Report - April 2014
Adoption - July 2014
