Foregone conclusion?

CBC have ranked highly the proposed Bury Hill site 4th of 32. Surrounded by rare wildlife, listed buildings, on a slope and flood plain! This is what our independent Councillor has posted on Twitter!  How can a site that was turned down for planning a couple of years ago be in the spotlight as a pretty good contender?  Seems the reasons it was turned down for building houses and a community centre have been forgotten!  Get yourselves to the Potton Town Council meeting on the 20th February.....mill lane pavilion at 7pm.  Have your say!

**URGENT** TIME TO STEP THINGS UP **URGENT**

Right everyone, we have been going for a week now and I think it is time that we step things up.    We are therefore asking you to write to the following individuals in respect of the proposals that effect our communities.    your correspondence either via email or by post need to reach these individuals well before the 25th February for them to be taken into consideration for the meeting on the 28th.    This will either cost you the price of a first class stamp or nothing if done via email.    Correspondence need to be made to CBC, who state that written representations, clearly marked, “for consideration by the Overview and Scrutiny Committee”, should be sent to both :- Jonathon.Partridge@centralbedfordshire.gov.uk and Councillor David.McVicar@centralbedfordshire.gov.uk to be received by 25th February 2013 at the very latest - preferably earlier.   Letters may also be sent by post to the above two people, at...

KEEP GOING

We are nearly at 300 signatures in the last 7 days!  Please please please keep going.  Get everyone in your household to sign as every signature counts.  Reading your comments has only served to reinforce why we are running this campaign.  On the one hand this whole situation makes us feel very sad and disappointed in those people that are said to represent us in Central Beds.  On the other, it gives us such joy that people feel the same why and want to voice their concerns.  Keep going please.

DAILY MAIL REPORTS ON POTTON AND STOTFOLD 2009...de ja vu?

Yet all of them, and thousands of other residents in Stotfold (population 8,500) and surrounding villages, are now having to defend themselves against accusations of racism. So were their names perhaps on the membership list of the British National Party which was posted anonymously on the internet recently?Far from it. The 'damning evidence', as it turns out, is contained in council questionnaires, completed in good faith by the likes of the Huckles, to provide feedback on plans to build gipsy camps in the area.Another permanent site in White City, West London. The Government has told local authorities to find more sites to solve a housing crisis in the gipsy communityMr Masterton insisted Stotfold was 'too small to cope with the influx'. Mr Bowskill was worried about the added pressure on local services. The Colliers, the Chalmers and the Huckles cited 'fear of crime'. Someone else thought one of the proposed sites was too near an old people's home. Another that it was...

PANTS in the Local Press!

PANTS provided the local Biggleswade press with an interview today in a bid to further spread the word that Potton, Sandy, Biggleswade, Sutton, Dunton, Wrestlingworth do not accept these proposals and we have serious concerns over and lack of confidence in the Central Beds ability to consider the views of local residents including our current Traveller community - we will all be adversely affected by these proposals! We have dropped more leaflets this evening and will continue to do so over the coming days and weeks as we continue and step up the visibility of the campaign. Dont forget - the petition address can also be sent by text and email to your friends and neighbours.  In the meantime, a BIG THANK YOU to everyone who has signed the petition so far.  Remember we are not just concerned about the effect these proposals will have on Potton, but our neighbouring villages and towns in the local area.  We thank you all.  Keep it coming!
