Dear Congressman Waxman, I support the Pali Blues Soccer Club, and I hope you will to. Based in Pacific Palisades, these women are back-to-back Champions of the USL-W League which comprises 26 teams from across the country, and in 2008 they were named the 2nd best women's soccer team in the world! During these times of economic crisis two women's professional soccer teams have just folded. We can't let this happen to the Pali Blues. Unlike our competitors teams from Vancouver, Colorado and Seattle, the Pali Blues are maintained by sole owners and we need support from our politicians and influential people in our community to keep it going. The Pali Blues have contributed to the community by not only being outstanding role models for our youth, but also by providing a botique sports franchise that caters to enhancing the power of sports for girls and young women on the Westside. The Pali Blues have also given back in a huge way by donating over $200,000 to the renovation of the field at Palisades High School for the benefit of surrounding community.
